By Ferry

Milos is connected by ferry to Piraeus, mainly during the summer season. The journey takes between 3 to 8 hours, depending on the ferry and stops at other islands.

The main ports are Adamas and Pollonia, both providing easy access to Plaka and the other villages.

Plaka

Plaka, the picturesque capital of Milos, captivates visitors with its cobbled alleys, whitewashed Cycladic houses, charming churches, and traditional little shops. As you stroll through its narrow streets, you can feel the authentic atmosphere of island life, while the climb up to the hilltop Venetian Castle rewards you with panoramic views over the surrounding islands.

Adamas

Adamas, the main port and settlement of Milos, provides easy access to all the island’s beaches. Here you’ll find hotels, restaurants, cafés, and the departure point for day trips to nearby attractions and islands, such as Kimolos and Polyaigos.

Milos has a good road network connecting Plaka, Adamas, Pollonia, and the main beaches. There is a municipal bus service, but renting a car, scooter, or ATV is recommended for more flexibility. Boats from Adamas take visitors to more remote beaches, such as Kleftiko and Sarakiniko.

Sarakiniko

The island’s most iconic beach features a lunar landscape of white volcanic rocks that extend into the sea, forming terraces, sea caves, and arches. Tsigrado

One of Milos’ most remote and exotic beaches, Tsigrado is embraced by towering cliffs, with white sand and emerald waters. Access requires descending a steep path, enhancing the sense of privacy and adventure.

Fyriplaka

Paleochori

Consisting of three consecutive beaches with coarse sand, volcanic rocks, colorful pebbles, and crystal-clear deep waters, Paleochori features organized areas for activities and dining, as well as quieter spots for relaxation.

Achivadolimni

The largest beach on the island, Achivadolimni has two sandy stretches in a natural bay, crystal-clear waters, and is ideal for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The second beach is organized, while the first offers a more secluded experience, next to a small clam-filled lagoon that gives the beach its name.

Archaeological Museum of Milos

In Plaka, the Archaeological Museum of Milos showcases prehistoric findings from Phylakopi, as well as sculptures and reliefs from the Hellenistic and Roman periods. A plaster replica of the famous Venus de Milo welcomes visitors at the entrance.

A visit to the ruins of prehistoric Phylakopi (3000–1100 BC) completes the experience, offering the chance to explore one of the most significant archaeological sites of the Cycladic civilization and to feel the island’s history come alive before your eyes.

Mining Museum
