Schinousa

Schinousa

Schinousa is truly one of the most charming small islands of the Cyclades. Despite its small size, it offers unforgettable vacations, with its traditional Cycladic character remaining intact.

How to get to Schinousa

Schinousa is connected to Piraeus by Blue Star Ferries throughout the year.

Villages

Schinoussa has 3 main settlements: Mersini, which is the port of the island, Chora and Messaria. Chora, located 1.2 km from the port, is built on a hill and offers a panoramic view while maintaining the authentic atmosphere you expect from a Cycladic village. Mesaria, although smaller, adds another touch of tranquility, just 3 km from Chora.

Getting around

Schinousa is one of those islands that invites you to leave behind any thoughts of vehicles and explore it in the most natural way: on foot. With a size of just 9.5 square kilometers, there’s no need for cars, motorcycles, or even bicycles. Its mountainous and slightly uphill paths offer an authentic wandering experience, connecting the two villages and the island's beaches.

This way of moving around lets you enjoy the scenery, feel the island's pulse, and surrender to its slow rhythm. Distances are short, and each step brings a new image — from hidden beaches to picturesque paths that seem to transport you back in time.

Beaches

Schinousa boasts stunning beaches known for their tranquility and unspoiled beauty. Some of the most well-known and popular beaches on the island include:

Tsingouri

This is the most famous beach in Schinousa, located just 5 minutes' walk from Chora. By following the path from Chora you’ll quickly arrive at this beautiful beach with crystal-clear waters.

Psili Ammos

Located on the northeastern side of Schinousa, Psili Ammos is a wonderful natural spot that perfectly reflects its name. Close to Mesaria, the second largest village on the island, it is a peaceful paradise surrounded by dunes and rocks, creating a "wild" and authentic backdrop.

Livadi

Livadi is one of the most enchanting and dreamy beaches in the area, known for its ideal atmosphere, especially for families. It has a large, wide sandy beach and is situated in a sheltered bay. The beach is about one kilometer from Chora, with an easy and relaxing walk, but it is also accessible by car via a well-maintained dirt road.

Almyros

A large beach with golden sand and turquoise waters. Its exposure to the strong northeastern winds makes it a popular choice for windsurfing enthusiasts.
