Cyclades

The Cyclades

Each island has its own character. In Mykonos and Ios, you can enjoy vibrant nightlife, while in Delos you can explore history. Andros and Amorgos are ideal for hiking, Santorini is a romantic destination, and Donousa and Anafi offer tranquility.

With frequent ferry connections, especially during the summer months, visitors can explore more than one island, dine by the sea, or relax on beautiful beaches. The local gastronomy, famous nightlife spots, breathtaking beaches, and significant archaeological sites make the Cyclades a perfect destination to discover the beauty of Greece.

AIR CONNECTIONS

The islands with airports are Mykonos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Santorini, and Milos. These islands have daily flights to/from Athens, and during the summer, some like Mykonos and Santorini have direct connections with European cities via charter or regular flights. Direct flights between the islands are rare and usually require a layover in Athens.

FERRY CONNECTIONS

Many ferry companies operate routes to the Cyclades, with the main departure ports being:

  • Piraeus, the largest port in Greece, with connections to most islands,
  • Rafina, ideal for destinations like Mykonos, Andros, and Tinos,
  • Lavrio, suitable for Kythnos and Kea.

To plan your trip to the Cyclades, it's important to know the ferry schedules, including departure days and times. Most connections occur in July and August, while in winter schedules are significantly reduced or even suspended on certain routes.
