How to get to Paros
By Air
Paros Airport serves daily flights to and from Athens year-round. The flight duration is about 40 minutes, and the island's airport is located 9 km from Parikia.
By Ferry
Paros is one of the most popular island destinations, with easy access from the three main ports of Attica: Piraeus, Rafina, and Lavrio. Depending on your location, budget, and time, you can choose the most convenient route.
Piraeus is the most popular option, as it offers daily departures year-round. The flexibility in departure times makes it an ideal choice for those looking for a variety of options. The travel duration ranges from 2.5 to 5 hours, depending on the type of ferry and the ferry company.
Rafina is an excellent alternative, especially for those located in the northern part of Attica.
The trip takes between 3 and 6.5 hours, as there are both high-speed and conventional ferries, offering more options for travelers.
Lavrio, although less popular, is the most economical option. However, the schedules are limited, and the trip lasts about 7 hours, making it a more relaxed alternative.
Parikia
Parikia, the capital and port of Paros, offers an exceptionally lively experience. The picturesque Old Town, with its narrow streets, is excellently preserved and filled with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. You will also find impressive archaeological sites, such as Parikia Castle, a seaside area full of taverns and bars, luxurious hotels, and beautiful sandy beaches like Livadia Beach, just a few minutes’ walk from the town.
Naousa
Naousa, an old pirate hideout, has transformed into a favorite tourist destination with vibrant nightlife. Built around the harbor, the area offers excellent restaurants, luxurious seaside hotels, cafes, and bars, creating an atmospheric and elegant feel in the area.
Lefkes
Lefkes is a beautiful mountain village on Paros, situated 250 meters above sea level and surrounded by lush landscapes. It is known for its traditional Cycladic architecture, with narrow streets, white low houses, and impressive bougainvillea creating a magical atmosphere. One of the most beautiful spots in the village is the central square, dominated by a tall pine tree, the symbol of the place. If you find yourself there, be sure to walk down the Byzantine Road, which dates back to 1001 AD and is the oldest road on the island.
Prodromos
Close to Lefkes is the picturesque village of Prodromos. Prodromos is known for its traditional Cycladic houses and narrow streets, which enhance the charm of the place. For hiking enthusiasts, there is the historic Byzantine path that connects Lefkes with Prodromos, a 3.9 km route offering beautiful views and unique landscapes along the way.
Marpissa
Marpissa is one of the most traditional and picturesque villages on Paros, maintaining its authentic Cycladic atmosphere. Located on the eastern side of the island, at the foot of Mount Prophet Elias, it stands out for its traditional architecture, with white houses, narrow streets, and arches. Getting Around
Getting around Paros is easy and flexible, with many options for exploring the island and its beautiful beaches. Parikia has frequent bus routes to Naousa and other popular destinations.
Additionally, there are options for renting cars, ATVs, and scooters in many areas of the island. During the summer period, it’s best to make reservations in advance due to increased demand. Alternatively, you can use taxis.
Beaches in Paros

Santa Maria
One of the most popular beaches, with white sand and turquoise waters, ideal for surfing and water sports. The beach has beach bars and an organized section, and it is close to Naousa, particularly busy in August.
