Below you will find the rules to follow for a smooth and safe crossing with your pet, according to Grimaldi Lines’ guidelines.
DON'T FORGET YOUR DOCUMENTS
• For domestic routes, a health record and registration in the canine registry are required.
• For transport within the Schengen Area or from a Schengen country to a non-Schengen country, a valid Pet Passport is required.
• For transport from a third country to a Member State of the European Union, an EU health certificate and Declaration are required, in accordance with the model set out in Regulation (EU) No. 577/2013.
✅ACCESSIBLE AREAS
• Pets are allowed in the armchair lounges, but only if they travel in a large, ventilated and sturdy pet carrier.
• To access the cabin, you must purchase the on-board pet in cabin service at a cost of €10 per cabin per route; it is also recommended that you present a valid certificate attesting to proper antiparasitic treatment upon boarding.
🚫NON-ACCESSIBLE AREAS
• Pets are not permitted in common areas, restaurants, or passenger lounges.
• Guide dogs for blind passengers are an exception, as required by law.
LEASH AND MUZZLE
• Pets are welcome to walk with their owners on all exterior decks of the ships, provided they are leashed and muzzled.
• Pets may not be left in the car during the voyage.
RESPONSIBILITY AND USEFUL TIPS
• Owners are fully responsible for the proper handling of their pet and for any damage caused to people, property, or other animals.
• It is advisable to fast for 2 hours before departure, to have water available and to avoid sudden changes in temperature.
