Terms & Conditions
General Conditions
General Terms and Conditions for Tickets Purchased from A SHIPS BROKING AND TRAVEL (ferrytips.com).
We remind that passengers and vehicles departing must have valid documents for travel abroad or for domestic travel, whichever is the case.
Vehicles must be registered to one of the traveling persons; alternatively, it is necessary to have a delegation from the owner or proof of rental to the satisfaction of the authority who will carry out the control. It is also mandatory to have valid insurance (for countries like Albania, which are not covered by some insurances, usually it can be arranged on-site upon arrival).
Tickets can only be purchased for vehicles used for private purposes. In the case of commercial vehicles or those transporting goods, please contact us to learn about the booking procedures.
Main Transport Conditions of Carriage as provided by the Shipping Company/Carrier
With the purchase of the maritime ticket, a transport contract is established between the shipping company (carrier) and the passenger. This contract does not constitute a tourist package and is not subject to related legislation. The person assuming the transport obligation is the carrier, as identified on the travel document. A Ships Broking and Travel (ferrytips.com) operates in this relationship merely as an intermediary – it is neither a tour operator nor a carrier/Shipping Company. The transport is carried out by the carrier according to its general transport conditions, detailed in relevant brochures available at our offices or on the carrier’s website (subject to change without notice from the carrier).
These conditions, which include specific limitations of liability on the part of the carrier, are deemed accepted by the passenger at the time of ticket purchase, along with any additional restrictive conditions regarding refunds, changes, modifications etc (e.g., vouchers or bonuses).
The carrier commits to adhering to the planned travel schedule; however, in the event of unforeseen circumstances (for example, minor damages, force majeure, prohibitive weather conditions, personnel strikes, ship detention for any reason or from any authority) reserves the right to modify schedules, cancel a trip, or substitute one ship for another, even without prior notice.
In the case of cancellation of a trip due to the direct proven responsibility of the carrier, it is their obligation (not that of A Ships Broking and Travel – ferrytips.com) to accommodate affected passengers and vehicles holding tickets on other companies, or to provide a full refund of the unused ticket, without further obligations and following European Union Legislation.

Ticket Purchase Conditions
A Ships Broking and Travel (ferrytips.com) with VAT No. EL802377439, holding Greek Ministry of Tourist Travel Agency License no. 0259E60000989401 operates as a travel agency only, thus serving merely as an intermediary between the customer and the carrier. A Ships Broking and Travel is neither a tour operator nor a shipping company/carrier.
In the event of total or partial failure to fulfill the transport service by the carrier/shipping company, liability rests solely with the carrier as identified above and no liability at all shall be attributed to A Ships Broking and Travel.
Departure and Arrival Times on Tickets
Please carefully check the time and day of departure and time and day of arrival during the booking phase so you are sure about the intended booking. Departure and arrival times may be subject to changes without prior notice from the carrier/shipping company. Arrival times are calculated based on the estimated navigation time and indicate the time the vessel is expected to arrive at port entrance. In case the client wishes to book another form of transport after the announced arrival time of the ferry (as per ticket available in hand) we suggest a wide marging between the bookings is allowed to cover any possible delay in arrival by the ferry.
A Ships Broking and Travel (ferrytips.com) is never to be assumed responsible for any delays in arrival or departure of the ferries executing the booking. Any complaints for delays must be submitted directly to the carrier.
Ticket delivery
Tickets booked online can be collected directly at the departure ports by presenting the confirmation printout with the booking code obtained at the end of the booking process after payment. Alternatively, tickets can be collected from our premises in Nea Erythraia – Greece. Where e-ticket option is available there is no need to collect any physical ticket, the proof of the e-ticket is enough and is considered as the actual ticket (but not the boarding card, where applicable).
Boarding Formalities
On the day of departure, it is necessary to present oneself at the boarding offices of the shipping company at least two hours before the scheduled departure time to complete the necessary check-in, unless the option of Web Check in is available and executed ontime by the Passenger both for the Passengers travelling but also for the vehicles travelling.
Cancellations, Refunds, Changes to Tickets
In the event of ticket cancellations, the penalties provided for in the general transport conditions of the shipping company will apply, along with an agency fee of €50.00 per booking for the facilitation of the ticket cancellation or ticket change through the carrier/shipping company. Any requests for cancellation or changes to purchased tickets must be submitted in writing via email ( [email protected] ) no later than 2 working days before the departure date and will be considered by our operators during office hours only. Requests for changes and cancellations always abide the General Terms and Conditions of the Carrier/Shipping Company.
Changes to purchased tickets may be made, subject to availability, with the payment of an agency fee of €50.00 plus the penalties and fare adjustments provided by the issuing shipping company (each case to be treated separately according to the policy of each shipping company / carrier).
Failure to present for boarding will result in the loss of the ticket without the right to any refund as per General Terms and Conditions of the Carrier / Maritime Company.
